BMW Launch New Series Via Livestream Posted in Heavy Chef News, Concocted by Wendy Tayler,

In an attempt to maximise their social media potential, the BMW Group are live-streaming the premiere of their latest BMW 3 Series Sedan. Taking place at 4pm today, the Facebook group will feature the video of the much anticipated launch of the new vehicle. Although it is taking place in Munich, BMW hopes to include all their fans across the globe.

BMW GroupThe Facebook page for this event has been counting down the days, minutes and seconds until the launch and with over 50,000 ‘likes’, many people in countries all over the world must be doing the same thing.

Creating a nostalgic atmosphere, the BMW Group page has a revolving film of all their classic car models, ranging from 1975 up until 2005.

The official press release gives the following informative figures: “During the financial year 2010, the BMW Group sold 1.46 million cars and more than 110,000 motorcycles worldwide. The profit before tax for 2010 was euro 4.8 billion on revenues amounting to euro 60.5 billion. At 31 December 2010, the BMW Group had a workforce of approximately 95,500 employees.”

Details of the virtual reveal will be available from the Pressclub, an hour and a half after the launch starts.
