Online reputation building using social media tools can really empower branding. Reputation Technologies is a great company that provides this service if you don’t want to do it on your own.

Surely if they are paid on performance this whole debate becomes less of an issue. It's just an inconvenience if someone wastes your time - performance based pay will ensure they don't waste your money. Thanks for the tips though!

Excellent comment Birgitta - and so relevant re the responsibility of mobile service providers.

I'm also glad you pointed out that growth for 2-screen browsing wouldn't be as high as most expect (although I do think you'll get some resistance from analysts who think differently), reason being that growth, I believe, often impedes maturity of usage.

The average consumer out there needs time to 'get use' to new technologies and speed of browsing. This is essential to allow for meaningful interaction.

I fully agree with your predictions for 2010 around DigiMedia. What I predict is that with around 41% of all internet usage being on mobile we will will however not see much higher growth for 2 screen browsing due to cost and lack of speed and robust technology.

My wish for 2010 from mobile service providers would be a higher effort to offer consumers robust network so our browsing and usage of video, applications is fast and reliable. I would also like to see prices down so more consumers can use smartphones for cost effictive communication.

Thanks for the getclosure mention Fred, and for another great post - the examples really show how effective ORM can be when you're on the ball.

"Create relationships with loggers"... I "wood" do that if I thought it would work. A small giggle at your expense I am afraid as I think you meant "bloggers", but at least someone is reading the post!

Interesting - thanks for sharing. I have not heard about them yet. I have only been aware of the world renown "GetSatisfaction.com" and the more local soundboard "HelloPeter.com" - getclosure.co.za looks like they mean business. Hooray - will go to them the next time I'm slighted by poor service ;-)

Thanks for the compliment Stehan!

I agree, in general, that service is not at a level that we can be proud of down here in SA. I think that's why companies such as getclosure (http://www.getclosure.co.za) are making such inroads into the marketplace. They offer a great balance of solid complaint delivery and an effective, discreet service to their subscribers (corporates who are the target of service complaints).
