Microsoft has recently released an infographic highlighting stats on how people are using their mobile phones in 2011 across the globe. It’s really interesting so we reposted it on Heavy Chef.
These stats are indeed mind-blowing, but before you jump up and hastily start a great mobile marketing campaign. Rather, do a little more locally focused research to see if these statistics are relevant to your target market. And from there, if needed, create a super impressive mobile marketing campaign that is focused and relevant to your community.

When you talk about mobile marketing, are you referring specifically to PPC mobile ad networks or mobile as a whole, including mobile websites?

  2. Yolandi Janse van Rensburg says

Mobile as a whole Andrew. You should be focused when working on all aspects of mobile marketing. If you are targeting township kids; you’d know not to build an iPhone App.

This infographic is really interesting but the amount of mobile internet users differ from country to country and also from market to market.
