WordPress Examples

The last couple of weeks I have been mouthing off about WordPress this and WordPress that, and so, it’s time to show you some examples of what can be achieved using this awesome platform. There are many examples of WordPress blogs out there. This is all very good and well but what I am trying to do is credit WordPresswith a little more than blogging platform status. It really can do so much more.

The Chefs here at Heavy Chef have cooked up quite a few WordPress sites in the past, Heavychef.com obviously being one of them, and not all of them are “blogs”.

Take a look at the following sites and browse around them a bit to see the cool galleries, video integrations and inclusion of social media in our blog/site developments.

  1. www.havethelastword.co.za
A blog that we built for a client. Just a beautiful blog with some nice Flickr and YouTube integration. The website also features multiple author profiles and has a few tricks up its sleeve. Nice :)
  2. www.garyhirson.com
Gary Hirson is a photographer and needed to easily manage all his pictures in an online portfolio style. Once again Wordpress provided all the answers. Gary maintains his own website, regularly adding new galleries and images. No problem!
  3. www.executivetouring.co.za
Executive Touring is a prime example of a “Simple Site” setup using WordPress as a CMS. Our client needed a simple website that they could easily update themselves. Wordpress Viola!
  4. www.bnichapter.co.za/tokai/
Need to host multiple blogs? No problem. BNI Chapter Tokai is one of a few chapters that run on the same server. The benefits here are only apparent if you are the one paying for the hosting or responsible for keeping these websites maintained. Techie says: “YAY!”

These are just some examples but something for you guys to check out. Your feedback and ideas will be appreciated. If you were wondering how we did anything on these sites or how you can get your hands a smart blog like one of these, give us a shout.
