South Africa Creates Worldwide Launch Video For Peugeot 208 – Sex, Nudity, Drama And Humour Posted in Heavy Chef News, Videos, Concocted by Wendy Tayler,

EURO RSCG Worldwide, dubbed one of the most creative agencies in the world, recently reached out to their South African team for an enormous and unusual project. The launch of the new Peugeot 208 required a dynamic team to tackle the demands of an interactive video that would be the debut for this French brand. The mini film involves all the elements of sex, nudity, humour and drama – which is all in a day’s work according to the team at Euro RSCG South Africa.

Here is what Jonathan Deeb, the Executive Creative Director of EURO RSCG South Africa, had to say about their objectives.

“We wanted to create talkability and get the message about this exciting new model across to a target market which consume media very differently.”

So what is the idea behind the short movie? “The idea is about letting your instincts take control and enjoying the world with your senses” says Deeb.

Deeb led the South African team which was made up of both Cape Town and Johannesburg, while correlating closely with the team in Paris. The concept was developed by the creative team, with the campaign tag line being ‘Let Your Body Drive’. As the main lead actor faces many crossroads, there is a choice as to which path you choose to take, making it highly interactive and of course amusing.

Lynn Madeley, CEO of Euro RSCG South Africa, gave great praise to the team when asked about her thoughts. “We are extremely proud of the work and it again highlights that South Africa is at the forefront of creative advertising.”

The short film was released worldwide on February 16th and has since become viral, with over 2.8 million views on YouTube and 1.7 million previews shown. What a great way to get South Africa’s digital light shining brighter across the globe. All eyes are on us in this one!
