I agree with your observation on the naming of the awards. I think 'Bookmarks' is a great name for an award, but the strapline should not be 'Digital Advertising Awards' - that is misleading, and indicates that they don't really understand the medium. That said, however, it's a great initiative and one which all of us should get behind. Despite all the negativity, I believe Africa needs an awards ceremony to recognise excellence in the field, as it will impact positively for all digital marketing agencies across the board. This is their first year; let's hope the teething problems will be resolved in 2009. Great post Louis.
