I agree with your observation on the naming of the awards. I think &#039;Bookmarks&#039; is a great name for an award, but the strapline should not be &#039;Digital Advertising Awards&#039; - that is misleading, and indicates that they don&#039;t really understand the medium.

That said, however, it&#039;s a great initiative and one which all of us should get behind.

Despite all the negativity, I believe Africa needs an awards ceremony to recognise excellence in the field, as it will impact positively for all digital marketing agencies across the board.

This is their first year; let&#039;s hope the teething problems will be resolved in 2009.</description>
