World Wide Creative Appoints New Cape Town General Manager Posted in Heavy Chef News, Concocted by Wendy Tayler, 4 comments

World Wide Creative (WWC), the Cape Town-based digital marketing agency, headed up by Fred Roed and Mike Perk, have recently announced the appointment of a new GM for their Cape Town office in the form of Alex Acton.

Alex was already with WWC as a Project Strategist, working on clients including MyCiti (The City of Cape Town), American Swiss, Markham and Ajax Cape Town.

A few of Alex’s career highlights have been launching his first business, a bulk SMS platform at age 19, followed by a successful two and a half year tenure in Mozambique exploring business opportunities from the wholesale distribution of food and alcohol to property development and the hospitality industry. At World Wide Creative, Alex oversaw the delivery of the SharkwatchSA website (a silver pixel winner at the prestigious 2012 Bookmarks Awards) as well as the well known American Swiss website (launched November 2012). In addition Alex has been responsible for the development of the City of Cape Town’s MyCiti site which will launch later this year.

Alex is moving into the GM position following Mike Perk’s decision to focus on turning the Heavy Chef Learning Division into the best in the world for digital marketing education.

“We’re extremely excited to see what Alex does with the CT office of WWC following his appointment as GM, he’s relatively young for such a position, but considering our industry we feel strongly that he’s in exactly the right headspace to take WWC to the next level creatively and commercially,” says Mike Perk.
