18 September 2014 marked the second Heavy Chef session at World Wide Creative’s brand new venue in Cape Town. Luke Townsin, Twitter’s Head of Brand Strategy (Multinational EMEA) speaks about the major trends in content consumption and what can be called the “mobile stream."
Luke’s presentation put the spotlight on parallel consumption or “meerkatting,” as the new way in which consumers are experiencing and interacting with content. According to Luke, 50% of consumers use their phones while they commute, while 60% use their mobiles while they’re watching TV. It’s digital multi-tasking.
