Fred Roed, CEO and Founder of Heavy Chef, says: “April has been a busy month at the Heavy Chef headquarters with lots of new projects in the planning phase, exciting collaborations we’re looking forward to. Our upcoming event on coding in Africa is a unique opportunity for our audience to hear the inspiring story of how a disruptive business model is changing lives on our continent. We’re stoked to have Arlene on our stage, we’re huge fans of hers and we’re convinced our audience will be blown away as well by this brilliant businesswoman.”

Heavy Chef is hosting Arlene Mulder, the Cofounder and MD of explosive social entrepreneur venture We Think Code_ to reveal the Coding revolution that is happening in South Africa, and Africa. Arlene will relate her own story, moving from RMB banking to the world of building a fast-growing startup. We’ll get a sense of some of the heart-warming stories, challenges and successes that is being faced by Arlene and her team.

After seven years as an investment banker, Arlene left the finance world to start WeThinkCode_ and pursue her dream of starting a tech business that aims to democratise and revolutionise education in order to deliver the world's top tech talent. Arlene is passionate about driving the development of the tech industry as well as establishing innovative digital problem-solving capabilities in Africa.
