Mark Forrester, Adriaan Pienaar and Magnus Jepson met in person more than one year after they founded WooThemes, the company behind WooCommerce. This remarkable startup, which was borne out of South Africa, Norway and the UK, powers more than 50m e-commerce websites. At a Heavy Chef event in Cape Town, Forrester relates the story of how WooThemes was started and eventually sold to Matt Mullenweg's Automattic, the holding company for WordPress. This talk provides a fascinating insight into starting a business in the 21st Century. This event was held at Bishops College, the school that Mark attended while growing up in Cape Town.
