How This Innovation And Investment Platform Is Assisting Emerging Entrepreneurs

Kinaya Ventures is a Dakar and Abidjan based platform co-founded by two inspiring African entrepreneurs Laïssa Mouen and Eva Sow Ebion. In June 2019, Kinaya Ventures will be coming to Mzansi as part of their pan-African roadshow to promote their accelerator project Spring Fellowship.

Louis Janse van Rensburg, who is an investor in Heavy Chef and who heads up the newly-formed Heavy Chef Foundation, is excited about the platform coming to South Africa: “Much like what we do right here at Heavy Chef, Kinaya Ventures’ ambition is to act as a digital ecosystem enabler in Francophone Africa and beyond.”

“Kinyana Ventures has many similarities to what Heavy Chef stands for. The Kinaya mission is to go beyond connecting the dots between startups, corporates and investors in order to upskill entrepreneurs and help them scale.”

Kinaya Ventures is bringing their African Tour to Mzansi, to Johannesburg and Cape Town.

The South African leg forms part of Kinaya’s tour of seven vibrant startup ecosystems across the continent.

Kinaya aims to meet and source the most promising tech startups on the continent. The 2019 African roadshow is in search of most promising Agritech, FoodTech, RetailTech, MarTech and AdTech startups in South Africa.

In aid to assist emerging entrepreneurs, Kinaya Ventures has designed Spring Fellowship. This four month accelerator fund is backed by corporate partners and offers seed funding of USD 15,000 per startup.

The programme also provides operational expertise, support and an upskilling program dedicated to innovative entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs.

In an exciting move while in South Africa, Kinaya Ventures will donate copies of The Heavy Chef Guide to Starting a Business in South Africa to 160 emerging entrepreneurs in Khayelitsha.
