About This Recipe

E-commerce entrepreneurs’ focus on what they want to sell often overshadows the how - to the detriment of the business. The success of online shopping hinges largely on the logistics that get the product into the customer’s hands at a price that serves the bottom line and service levels that support the brand.

For this reason, Anita Erasmus, head of business at Bob Group, urges entrepreneurs to think through and research the logistics of their
e-commerce business at least as diligently as they fine tune their products. The same care should also go into selecting an integration partner, crafting a returns policy and process, and streamlining the website and order process.

Anita furthermore discusses developments in out-of-home delivery solutions and highlights the fact that the e-commerce business is always responsible for customer service and support.
