Building A Community

As the founder of the CORA Project and Aurora Wellbeing, Aurora Marcopoulos understands the importance of community, and the art and science involved in building one.

Tuck In

Aurora Marcopoulos combines an abiding interest in global politics with a passion for women’s health and a flair for entrepreneurship.

She graduated from the University of Cape Town in 2017 with a degree in social science, triple majoring in politics, economic history and international relations. She completed an honours in international politics and served an internship at a human rights organisation in Geneva, working closely with the UN Human Rights Committee.

Her awareness of social issues and human rights led her to co-found the CORA Project, an NPO that tackles period poverty in South Africa based on the premise that everyone should have access to quality menstrual products and education.

In 2022, Aurora completed a master’s degree in conflict, peace and security - and began working on her femtech startup. Aurora Wellbeing is Africa’s first e-commerce store and platform that provides complete menstrual-cycle care, ranging from period products, skincare and supplements to CBD oil for cramps and, most importantly, a supportive community.
