Gary Kirsten is a former South African cricketer who served as the national team’s opening batsman from 1993 to 2004, earning a reputation for discipline, resilience and consistency at the highest level of the game. Widely regarded as one of South Africa’s most dependable players, he built a career defined by focus and a deep understanding of performance under pressure. Following his retirement from international cricket, Kirsten transitioned seamlessly into coaching, where he made an immediate global impact. As head coach of the India national cricket team, he guided the side to a historic victory at the 2011 Cricket World Cup, cementing his reputation as one of the world’s leading high-performance coaches. He later returned home to coach the South Africa national cricket team, continuing to shape elite talent. Beyond the boundary, Kirsten has extended his expertise into the business world. As co-founder of Performance Zone, he works with organisations, leaders and teams to unlock potential, build strong cultures and deliver sustained high performance across both sport and business environments.
