Being trusted to run my grandmother's shop inspired me to have a sense of honesty. I was trusted to self-regulate which instilled an inherent sense of right and wrong within myself.

For me, seeing Marcia Clark was a step in that she was a woman. But there was still that disconnect because she was white so it felt more of a leap. That, "Oh, can I actually become that? Because obviously, this woman is in the US and on top of that, she's white. Can I have the same opportunities?"

I think ethics is very hard to define, but you know what it is, you know what it looks like. A part of it, for me, is that ethics is about thinking in a collective sense. It's not just about thinking about yourself. If I had to apply to this moment, I think ethics is about thinking about what is best for the country, not just for you, not just for your own business, not just for your own employees.

Paying taxes, for me as a citizen, is my contribution to the country. It's also the rent that we pay for taking up space here and using the services that we use. On a practical level, get people who know more than you, who can guide you and who can make sure that you've ticked all the boxes and you comply in terms of your taxes.

The way that I define constitutionalism is along the lines of the rule of law. I think constitutionalism is about bending the law towards an expansive idea of freedom, equality, and dignity for all. Exercising our rights, defending our rights, promoting our rights and expanding those rights so that more people can feel included when we say 'We, the people' and it's not just rhetoric.

When you work with someone like Justice Carmen up-close, what you realise is that this is a hard-working person. He's an ordinary person who works really hard and who is motivated by what I was talking about earlier - collective sense. By a sense of community, "It's not just about me". One of the things that Cameron says that inspires me is, "Don't feel guilty over privilege, be energised by it".

Entrepreneurs are citizens of the country. By virtue, they should care because the constitution affects them too. So within a constitutional democracy, it's helping to ensure that your goods, your services, your technology are used for good.

Now that we have an inclusive constitution, we need to make the vision real. Now is our time to actually play our part and to realise even a small piece of that vision. And that's how you make a country from generation to generation.

It's hard not to focus on the negative, but there are things to be glad of when you look through different lenses. Our freedom of speech and expression still counts for something, and certain services are pretty consistent in most parts. Most excitingly, we're not afraid to push for the change when it comes down to it.

We shouldn't compete with other countries' standards of what value is. We need to define value for ourselves and avoid downplaying what we have going for us here in SA. Let's be uncompromisingly South African in everything we do because we're great at a lot.
