Who Is Our Heavy Chef?

Misha Teasdale is the founder and creative catalyst behind Greenpop, a South African environmental organisation on a mission to help people get active, rather than anxious, about the state of the planet. What began as a simple idea has grown into a movement that has planted more than 200,000 trees across sub-Saharan Africa, inspiring thousands of people to take action for the environment. His work has been widely recognised. In 2011, The Mail & Guardian recognised him as one of their Top 200 Young South Africans, and in 2013 he was named one of the country’s top climate leaders. In 2019 he was honoured as one of South Africa’s Legends for his contribution to making the world a greener place. He is a Youth Fellow of the Young African Leaders Initiative through the Aspen Global Leadership Network and has participated in the Club of Rome African Youth delegation. When he’s not planting trees, you’ll likely find him inspiring activists and entrepreneurs.
